Representatives of the Directorate for Inland Waterways Plovput participated at the meeting of Bilateral Romanian- Serbian Working Group for Electronic Navigation Charts (ENC), which was held from 9th to 13th of November 2009, at the facilities of AFDJ in Giurgiu, Romania. The main topics of the meeting were: synchronization of the content of electronic navigation charts, its preparation for synchronization with the new Inland ECDIS 2.0 Standard, as well as performing activities on international projects NEWADA (Network of Danube Waterway Administrations) and IRIS EUROPE II. The host of the meeting organized trip to Donaris III – a vessel specialized for hydrographic survey. A short demonstration of hydrographic survey done with multi-beam echo sounder was performed, as well as processing collected data and presentation of the results of survey. The next meeting of the Bilateral Romanian-Serbian Working Group for electronic navigation charts is planned for spring of 2010, and will be organized by the Directorate for Inland Waterways Plovput in Belgrade.
